Between 1930 and 1962, the NIHSC had two divisions, West & East.
The list above shows the Eastern Division Champion, with play-off results
In 1963, the ENIHSC reorganized into the NIC.

The Northern Indiana High School Conference (NIHSC) was organized in 1926-27. 1st Football title in 1927.
It split into two divisions by 1930, Western (Schools in Lake Country: Gary, Hammond, East Chicago, etc) and the
Eastern Division: LaPorte, Michigan City, South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, etc
The NIHSC broke up in the early 1960’s with the Eastern Division retaining the name, eventually becoming known as the
Northern Indiana Conference (NIC).

Starting in 1992-93, the NIC Football coaches selected an MVP and a Coach of the Year, which are listed.
Before that time, the SB Tribune did select some All-NIC Football teams.
All-Conference football teams selected by the coaches began to appear in the late 1970’s.
Previous to that era, the SB Tribune selected the teams with some coaches involved.
